Raw & Uncut Live History

Audio Archive

From 2011 to 2019, I dragged microphones, mixers, cables, and whatever else I had available into venues across the scene to broadcast live performances on Official FN Radio. Along the way, I recorded hundreds of sets. Some sound great. Some sound terrible. Most are completely uncut, including introductions, soundchecks, stage banter, crowd noise, technical hiccups, and whatever else happened that night. Nothing has been cleaned up or polished. This is how it sounded.

These recordings come directly from my personal archives and serve as an audio companion to Living the Scene. Every surviving broadcast recording is documented in the book's appendix, and I'm working to bring them all online. Browse by year, search for a band, revisit a show, or discover something you've never heard before. Streaming is completely free.

I never intended to become an archivist. I was just a guy with some microphones who loved the music and wanted people to hear it. Much like the book itself, it was an honor to be part of this scene and, ultimately, to help preserve its history. Some of these bands and venues are long gone, but the music remains.

It happened. It mattered. And here's the proof.

— Knob
